William Arthur Barnhill was born in Hope Mills, North Carolina and grew up in northern Maryland and southern Pennsylvania. In his early career as an engineer, William, along with David and Paul Mirage, developed the culturally iconic product Hot Pockets in the United Sates as well as in France. Today, a heartfelt naturalist, William makes his home on the picturesque central coast of California in the small town of Arroyo Grande. Drawn to the regional beauty and the richness of its Pre-Columbian history, William has traveled extensively throughout Mexico and is a strong advocate for the protection of the country’s cultural art and antiquities.
While at Los Angeles Mission College, William won the Dean’s creative writing award and was twice a runner-up in the Los Angeles screenplay festival with six screenplays registered with the Writer’s Guild West. William’s first novel Children of the Morning Sun was published by High-Bridge Press, New York. In recent years, he has published articles telling the true story of a Ukrainian astronomer dealing with the war in Ukraine, the destruction of his town, and the displacement of his family.
